Discover and harness your
thinking preferences

The Herrmann Brain Dominant Instrument, or HBDI, is a tool that measures and describes your thinking preferences based on four different modes: analytical, sequential, interpersonal, and imaginative.

The Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument teaches businesses and employees to use ‘whole brain thinking’ which makes it easy to build alignment, engagement, and agility across your organisation.

The aim of this particular profiling tool is to empower individuals, supervisors, managers and teams to decode and apply their differences in thinking to optimise collaboration through cognitive diversity.
We believe that the Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument can play a role in any team environment as we know that thinking preferences have an impact on virtually everything we do.
This is so important when it comes to working within a team who all have different thinking preferences, to use the strengths of each style and identify when we may need to ‘stretch’ our preferred style.
Your thinking preferences impact your communication, decision making, problem solving and management styles. Using this profiling tool will help you understand what your preferences are and will help you view your colleagues in a new light as you understand their way of thinking more.

How will this help my business?

What Is the Whole Brain Thinking Approach?

You learn a lot of fascinating things when you study neuroscience. The whole-brain thinking approach is one such thing.
This approach has multiple applications and is a common approach to learning. Many high performing managers leverage what they learn through whole-brain thinking to gain a competitive edge in the professional market.
It still surprises me when I speak with managers that want to grow and scale but haven’t yet heard about this approach. Whole-brain thinking can optimise various learning processes, including Elearning.
Whole-brain thinking also allows for managers to take an approach best suited for their business when things become uncertain or volatile—helping to create a dynamic approach to management that enables you to tackle any challenges that come your way.
Before we can dive into the nuances of the whole brain thinking approach, we must first understand what it is and where it originates.

What do the test results look like?

The HBDI teat takes approximately 30 minutes to undertake and produces the following 2 page report which can be viewed as a hard copy on as an online interactive feedback session. Each teast will have a one and a half hour feedback session with our HBDI Certified Practitioner Cliff Hegan.
